Benefits of Change!

Hello My Lovelies.

Change is the best word to describe my life in the past few months. From bad changes to even good changes its always scary. Change shakes up your life, it removes you from your comfort zone and makes us explore undiscovered territory. Some of us jump into it and we are ready to take on any challenge that change brings or some of us freeze up because we are too afraid of leaving our comfort zones. Some of the changes I welcomed with open arms but other changes where a lot harder to grasp or make sense of.

So many of us are going through changes, such as new environment, new job, end of relationship or the end of a situation that we where so familiar with. When change is positive, of course we are excited for the opportunities but when change pulls at out feelings and emotions it seems easier to just get into bed and not think about it.

Change is not there to break us and bring us down, ultimately change is there to build us up, make us stronger and push us closer to where we are actually meant to be. Change allows growth within ourselves and allows us to experience things we would never have normally made an effort to experience For those of you like myself that are scared of change but constantly seeking something better, new and exciting, this will be helpful:

1. Personal growth: When things change you grow and learn new things. you discover new things about your life. You learn life lessons from change that build you up and make you stronger.

2. Improvements: we all have things in our life that we would like to improve. we also know that nothing will improve by itself. We need to do things differently to make things happen. Without change there would be no improvement.

3. Life Values: Change makes us re-evaluate our lives and it makes us look at certain things differently. Sometimes we realize we need to make certain changes or sometimes change makes us reinforce out life values. It all depends on the change.

4. Strength: Change isn't  always pleasant. Overcoming the tough changes in our lives makes us stronger.

5. Progress: Change triggers progress. This move forward with change. Different opportunities arise with change.

6. Opportunities: We never know what new opportunities will happen with change. Change brings new choices and happiness. Change opens doors when the old ones close.

Remember everything happens for a reason. In every situation there is an opportunity for growth and experience. Keep an open mind about change and when it happens go for it regardless of how scared you are.

Have a Beautiful week lovelies & I hope you enjoyed this post.

How to take care of your Makeup Brushes.

Good Afternoon lovelies :)

It has been absolutely freezing in Cape Town but I am loving this weather after a hot hot summer. I recently bought a 24 piece MAC brush set and I wanted to share with you how to take proper care of your brushes after you have used them. Makeup brushes are so important and I honestly don't know what I would do without them so here's how you can take care of them and make them last as long as possible.

1. Clean your brushes frequently to avoid bacteria: Washing your brushes often keeps them in better shape and makes them last longer. Brushes used with creams need to be washed shortly after use. If you leave it longer than a couple days it can be a pain to wash out when you finally do.

2. Stand your brushes upright or lay them flat: After you have washed your brushes it is best to lay them flat because this helps them retain there shape. Make sure that when they are drying you keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent breakage and fading.

3.Always reshape your brushes after you have washed them: Your brushes will dry to the shape they are left at wet. So you will want to shape them into the shape you expect while they are wet or damp.

4. Never blow dry or use direct sunlight to dry your brushes: This can cause permanent damage to your brushes which is what we don't want. If you don't have time then rather go for an alcohol based Brush cleaner because they have a much faster drying time compared to shampooing with water.

Brush Sets are so expensive its vitally important to take good care of the one you have so you don't end up buying a new one.

Have a Beautiful Tuesday afternoon Ladies

10 Beauty Tips and Tricks :)

Good Afternoon Lovelies :)

It has been a while since I have posted but I have 10 Beauty Tips and Tricks for you. These are the tips that I absolutely live and swear by. I am always looking for new and better beauty tips to live by and these are the few that I have really been sticking to lately.

Lets get started:

1. If you have greasy hair like me then avoid directly conditioning the roots and condition from the eat down. This will help keep your hair looking clean, sleek and Smooth.

2. If you are going to be out all day and you are worrying about keeping the volume in your hair then avoid running your fingers through your hair. the oil from your hands can weight down your hair which will leave it looking flat and greasy at the end of the day.

3. If you don't have nail polish removed and you really need to remove old nail polish then apply clear nail polish over and wipe off. This will remove old nail polish.

4. Make sure that you change your Beauty routine from spring to summer months. Your skin needs less coverage during spring so switch form the heavy products to the lighter ones.

5. If you are planning on having a late night out and you want your eye shadow to stay on all night use concealer as a base on your eyelids. This will help the shadow stick for longer.

6. If you straighten your hair with a flat iron like I do, cause less heat damage by letting your hair air-dry before straightening. The less heat, the better.

7. If you have chipped nail polish and you are in a rush then add glitter on top to disguise the look of chipping.

8. Always hydrate your under-eye area with an eye cream to prevent puffiness and bags.

9. If you find you are too tired to wash off your make up make sure that you always keep makeup removing wipes at your night stand to prevent breakouts in the morning.

10. The best time to apply creams is after the shower because the skin has been de-oiled.

I hope you are all having a beautiful day no matter where you are and stay Beautiful

Health: Benefits of Sweet Potatoe

Good Afternoon Lovelies

It has been ages since I have posted but I have been extremely busy. I will make sure I post at least twice a week. Anyway as you all know from my "New Years Resolutions" post I have decided to become more healthy. I did a whole bunch of research on different types of food and the healthier options.
I stopped eating normal potatoes and switched over to Sweet Potatoes. Did you know that normal potatoes contain 400 - 500 calories in one potatoes whereas a Sweet potatoe only has 100 - 112 calories in one potatoe.

Here are more benefits of Sweet Potato:

1. They Contain Vitamin D. This is very important for the boosting of your immune system and your over all health throughout the year. Vitamin D plays a big role in your energy levels, moods, helps builds healthy bones, nerves, skin and teeth and it supports the thyroid gland.

2. Sweet Potatoes contain Iron which helps aid in giving us energy but iron also plays other rolls in our body, including the production of White and Red blood cells, resistance to stress and the metabolizing of protein in your body.

3. Sweet Potatoes are a good source of magnesium which is the relaxation and anti-stress mineral.

4. Sweet Potatoes are naturally sweet tasting but there natural sugars are slowly released into the blood stream, which helps ensure that you have a balanced and regular source of energy.

5. They are high in potassium which helps regulate your heartbeat and nerve signals. Potassium also helps with relaxing muscle contractions, reduces swelling and protecting and controlling the activity of your kidneys.

There are just a few benefits of sweet potatoes and how they help regulate your bodily functions. I eat a sweet potatoe 3 times a day with each meal and I hardly ever have cravings for chocolate or sweets because of the natural sweet taste of the potatoe.

This is just one of the healthier foods that I love. I will be doing more blog posts on many more.
Enjoy and thanks for reading

4 Makeup Mistakes to Avoid.

Hello Ladies :)

We have all made makeup mishaps that we would much rather forget. So here are 4 rules to stick by to make sure that it never happens again.

1. Mismatched Foundation: When choosing a foundation make sure you know what skin type you have. For example, if you have oily to combination skin make sure you choose a foundation that is oil free or not oil based because if you don't, by midday you will be looking like a full on grease mess. In summer I highly recommend avoiding heavy makeup. Rather switch to a BB cream as this is very light on the skin but still gives great coverage. Always make sure that you apply your foundation in natural light. This will help you make sure that the color of the foundation is perfect for you and you can avoid streaking or blotching.

2. Lumpy Lashes: First things first toss out any Mascara that is older than 3 months. Every time we use mascara we expose the wand to air, germs and dust and this can lead to spoiling the mascara or even an eye infection if you are not careful. When applying Mascara make sure you wiggle the wand a bit to get rid of any excess product. This will make sure you get an evenly spread application to you eyelashes. If you are planning on applying more than 1 coat of mascara make sure that you apply the second coat before the first dries to avoid lumpy lashes.

3. White Eye shadow below the eyebrow: When you watch makeup tutorial you always see the makeup artist applying a highlighter under the eyebrow. This just completes the look but one thing many girls are doing is applying a frosty white eye shadow under the brow. This is just going to make you look like a clown. Ladies make sure you just use a highlighter and not actual white eye shadow.

4. Over-plucked eyebrows: Ladies I cannot mention this enough. Avoid over plucking your eyebrows. Rather just neaten your brows up by removing fine hairs that grow outside the area. If you want a more defined look try using a brow kit to get a more polished and natural look.
Check out my review on Essence Brow Styling kit.

So ladies these are just a few mistakes you should avoid. Remember, makeup is there to enhance your beauty not to take away form it.

Have a great day
xoxo

Charlie Foundation Review :)

Hello Muffins :)

I want to talk about Charlie Foundation. Like i have said in my previous posts Almay is my go to foundation because it has more natural extracts in it and I don't break out at all when I apply it to my skin for a long period of time but the other day I decided to give Charlie foundation a try again. I started using charlie foundation when I first started applying foundation which was years ago. All I can say is that I forgot how amazing this foundation is.

Charlie Foundation has a fairly thick texture and spreads easily to my skin once I started applying it. This foundation gives 100% full coverage. I have 2 blemishes on my cheeks that I am always trying to cover up and this foundation does it perfectly. Once applied my skin literally looks flawless and blemish free.

I have very oily skin so It is so hard for me to find a foundation that doesn't make my skin shiny and oily which is why I always stuck to Almay but after using Charlie foundation again, it doesn't make my skin oily or shiny at all. My skin stays looking matte all day. Now and then I will take shine control blot sheets and blot my skin just to make sure but other than that I'm good for up to 12 hours wearing Charlie Foundation.

I have now gone out and stocked up with an extra 2 bottles of Charlie foundation. This is such an inexpensive foundation and it does such a great job. I still absolutely love Almay foundation and it will always be my #1 go to foundation but for those nights out where I want to stay looking flawless I will stick to my Charlie Foundation for a matte even look all night.

For all you ladies looking for a decent inexpensive foundation definitely consider Charlie.

Hope everyone is having a great day

Know your worth! :)

Hello Muffins. :)

Its been forever since I wrote a post because I have been so busy but I had time to do a lot of thinking about what my next post should be and this has been on my mind for sometime and that is us as woman need to know our worth.

Recently I have seen so many girls in abusive relationships or abusive relationships with family or friends. We as woman should know our worth, we should know what we deserve and what we don't deserve. Yes we are very sensitive and we have our moments but that honestly gives absolutely no one the right to call you names, say mean or hurtful things to you or put you down. More and more girls are letting things slide like how they are spoken to and what is said about them and that gives the person hurting you more power and it makes the way they treating you or speaking to you ok!

ladies we are woman and every women deserves the absolute best. We are responsible for what we allow people to say to us,how they speak to us and how they treat us. We need to know what we are worth so that we don't tolerate what we don't deserve.

You are responsible for how you feel, You are responsible for how people see you, You are responsible for making sure you are happy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting yourself first and loving yourself before loving someone else.

I recently came out of a long term relationship and I could never see what was wrong because I was in the relationship but what I did know was that I was so unhappy for so long and I put up with so much that most girls would never put up with. When I finally gpt the courage and removed myself from that relationship I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. It was like I could breath again. Now I think back and I know what I don't want in another relationship or a person.

So ladies you need to know your worth. You are strong, beautiful, independent, amazing and hard working. Know what you deserve because we all deserve nothing but the best

I hope you all having a great day
Love You
XOXO
