How to remove your Makeup

Hi Everyone :)

So I have noticed that a lot of people apply Makeup for a night out and then when they get home they literally rub their faces raw trying to get the makeup off so I thought I would give you some tips on how to remove makeup properly without damanging your skin.

1. Always wash your face before bed, especially if you have makeup on. Washing your face before bed and applying a boosting moisterizer so that you can wake up with glowing, plumb and fresh skin.

2. Many people ask if they should use toner after washing their face. Personally I would use toner because I have had problem skin, so I find that if I dont use toner after washing my face I tend to break out more but ofcourse this is optional, you can just wash your face and apply a moisterizer.

3. Never use Baby Wipes to clear your skin. I really dont know why people use baby wipes because they do not get the job done. Rather stick to an actual cleanser.

4. People with dry skin can use a cleanser as well as a good moisterizer after washing their face. If you have oily skin I would recommend using a foaming cleanser because it will get deap into your pores and really clean your skin.

5. Removing Mascara must be one of the hardest things to remove, well for me atleast. What I have learnt to do is I will apply makeup remover to a cosmetic cotton pad and place it on my eye. I leave the pad there for about 15 seconds so that the makeup remover can start working on the mascara and then I will gently wipe my mascara away. I find this way the easiest and less harmful.

Hope this helps for all the ladies struggling to remove their makeup after a night out.
:)

Almay Skin Stays Clean Foundation Review

Hi Everyone :)

The product I want to talk about today is the Foundation that I have been using for a while now which is "Almay skin stays clean".

I have very oily skin and a problem I always had was every foundation I tried would leave my skin oily and feeling clogged. I would wash my makeup off but i would still wake up in the morning with breakouts.

So I was looking for a foundation that was oil free and would not harm my skin or cause break outs.

I first came across Almay Skin Stays Clean Foundation when I went into clicks pharmacy and it was on sale. I had just ran out of foundation and I needed to get a new foundation ASAP.

I went home and tried the foundation that night and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a liquid foundation and I only used a little and it spread throughout my whole face. It gave my face a natural fresh appearance. It didnt cause breakouts and it didnt leave my face feeling oily or clogged.. It didnt crease or seep into fine lines.

It stayed on for about 5 - 6 hours but I always apply translucent powder which keeps my makeup on and looking fresh for longer.

This Foundation has salacylic acid in it that helps exfolliate and clear up problem skin which is just what I needed since I did have problem skin in high school and still get an occasional break out here and there.

I have heard that this foundation is being discontinued but I have still been able to buy it in my clicks stores.

This foundation is "AMAZING" and i would recommend it to anyone that is willing to give it a try.

Makeup Tip #3 - How to highlight and contour your face

Hi Everyone :)

This is how you can highlight and contour your face.

1. Apply your foundation as normal using your foundation tool of choice. This will give your face a light coverage.

2.Apply a lighter foundation thats a shade or two lighter than your current foundation. There must be a noticeable different to your current foundation. Use a sponge to apply the lighter foundation to the centre of your forehead. Also apply the lighter foundation to the centre of your nose and the dip right above your lips.

3.Apply a small amount of foundation to the outer edges of your nose, underneath the eye and the edges of your nose.

4.Apply a small amount of foundation to your chin and under both arches of your eyebrows.

5.Always use a bronzer for your contour colour but if you are light skinned, you can use a powder that is about two shades darker than your actual skin colour..

6. Dip your brush in your contouring colour and apply that to the outer edges of your chin.

7.For contouring of the nose apply a thin line of your contouring colour to the top of your nose right down to the tip of your nose(Repeat on opposite side)

8. To conotour your cheek bones, contour by starting at the cheekbone around the middle of your eye and follow all the way up towards your ear.

9. Highlighting just under your cheekbone, forehead and nose bridge.

10. Once you have done your contouring and highlighting make sure that you blend the lines into your current foundation colour so it looks natural.

Tip:Always remember to highlight the inner sections of you face such as under your eyes, the centre of your nose and forehead. These parts are normally darker and make your face look puffy, tired and uneven. By highlighting them it will make your face look brighter, awake and fuller.

Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base

Hi Everyone :)

So the product I want to talk about today is "Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base". I went into Clicks Pharmacy to actually buy a new foundation but then I saw the Essence Eyeshadow Base on sale.
One problem I always have with my eyeshadow is that it never stayed on longer than about 3 hours, so I decided to buy this product and give it a try.

All I can say is that I am so happy with it. It makes your eyeshadow stand out and lasts up to 8 hours which for me is perfect.

This Eyeshadow base acts as a primer for your eyelid and it gives you a blank canvas before applying your eyeshadows. You only need to apply a little for it to spread thoughout your whole eyelid.
The wand allows quick and easy application and it makes your eyeshadows appear more colour intensive which is perfect for those nights out that you want bold makeup.

This product can also be used as a primer for eyeshadow or a concealer for any dark circles around your eyes.

This product is affordable and I will definatly be buying it again.
I would recommend this product to anyone that is willing to give it a try.

Makeup Tip #2 - How to make your eyes appear larger.

Hi Everyone :)

This is how you can make your eyes appear larger with makeup.

1. Always make sure that your eyebrows are shaped properly(shaping your eyebrows really does give your face a brighter look)
 2. One thing I always do is apply a concealer to my eyelid for a clean and fresh look.

3. It is always better to apply a light eyeshadow to your eyelid rather than a dark eyeshadow. Having a lighter eye shadow on your eyelid will make your eyes look brighter as well as more open.

4. While applying a light colour to your eyelid also highlight around your tear duck this will open your eye and make it appear brighter.

5. Take one shade darker than the colour you applied to your eyelid. Apply the darker colour you chose to the crease of your eye.(If you do this, it will create dimension to your eye)

6. Apply a light stroke of eyeliner. You do not want to apply the eye liner dark because this will make your eye look heavy and tired.

7. Curl your lashes before applying mascara because this will create a lifting effect to tired and droopy eyes and you will get a more natural curl.

8. Apply your Mascara. When applying mascara take the tip of the mascara wand and apply it directly to the end of your lashes in an upward direction.

9. Apply a light coat of mascara to your bottom lashes(This will make your bottom lashes more visible and inturn your eye will appear larger)

10. This is optional, but I personally love doubling up on Mascara because it makes your eye lashes longer and thicker.

What is BB Cream???

The first time I saw BB cream was in an AVON Magazine. I thought it was a foundation. I was a bit scared to buy it just incase i didnt like it. So i looked it up to see different reviews on BB Creams.
After reading nothing but good reviews I finally decided to give it a try.

BB stands for 'Blemish Balm or 'Blemish Base'. This cream to me is basically a multi-fuction cream. This cream will give you a great base for makeup just like a primer, evens out your complexion, covers minor imperfections and redness just like a concealer.

I started using the BB cream that I ordered immediatly. As I have said in my previous post that I had problematic skin in High School so I was left with minor scars so when I use the BB cream it covers my minor scars, moisterizes my skin and has SPF agents in it.

This product will always be in my makeup collection. It does the job for literally 7 other products. its so light weight and easy to apply.

I would recommend the AVON BB Cream to anyone that is willing to give it a try.
You will not be dissappointed :)

Makeup Tip #1 - How to apply foundation

Hi Everyone :)

So I have noticed that a lot of people have problems with applying foundation. Some people apply to little, others apply to much or some people dont apply it evenly. So here is how to apply foundation perfectly:

1. Always start with a clean face and clean hands.

2 Apply a moisterizer that is perfect for your skin. Most foundations go on more smoothly and evenly when your skin his well-hydrated and moisterized. I personally use foundation primer because it creates a smooth surface for when you apply your foundation.

3. Apply concealer to your dark under eye circles, pimples or scars with your concealer(one thing to always remember is to pat the concealer, never rub the concealer into your skin)

4. Now to apply foundation. I always use a foundation brush to apply my foundation because it soaks up less foundation and its also easier to blend your foundation. If you perfer using a spunge or your hand that will work as well. Apply dots of foundation on your chin, cheeks, forehead and the tip of your nose.

5. Now using your foundation brush or whatever tool you perfer blend the dots together.

6.Make sure you spread the foundation right down to your neck(I personally think there is nothing worse that your face being a different colour to yout neck)

7. To get a Matte look after applying your foundation set it with a loose powder immediatly after application.

Essence Fix & Matte Translucent Loose Powder

I had never heard of Translucent Powder but when I went into a Clicks store and saw Essence Fix and Matte Translucent Loose Powder on sale I bought it to try it.When I got home I immediatly googled how Translucent Powder helps with your Makeup and when to apply it.
.
Translucent Powder is meant to keep your make up in place, intaked and looking fresh for most of the day. In all honesty I didnt believe that a simple powder could hold your make up together for most of the day because makeup is known to fade as the day goes on but i was willing to try it out.

In the morning I got up as I usually do for work. I applied my foundation and then I applied a little bit of the Translucent powder all over my face and then applied the rest of my makeup and just to be sure I applied a little more of the Translucent Powder on my face again once I had applied all my makeup, even on my eye lids where I had applied light eye shadow. I went to work as normal. when I got home I checked my makeup and it was still perfectly intaked. The one problem I always had was my Foundation would fade during the day as well as my Eye shadow. If I had plans for that evening I would have to do touch ups but ever since I started using the Essence Fix and Matte Translucent Loose Powder I never have to worry about fixing my makeup or reapplying it.

The white powder is light weight, has no smell and you only need to apply a small amount and then you ready to go for the whole day.
I would personally reccommend this product to anyone that is willing to try it. Its affordable and it does the job.

The Difference between Concealer and Foundation

A lot of people don't know the difference between Concealer and Foundation and to be honest neither did i until i actually looked it up after watching a Make-up tutorial on You Tube.

Concealer is a type of Make-up that is used to cover scars, dark circles and pimples that are visible on your skin.

Foundation is a skin coloured Make-up that is there to create a flat, smooth and matte finish to your face.

Personally I think using Concealer and Foundation together give a person a great flawless look. When i was in High School i had problematic skin and i was left with some scars after i finally got my skin problem under control. I have taken steps to slowly try and get rid of the scars but as everyone knows that does take time. So when i have a girls night out, go for supper with friend or even go to the shop I use Concealer and Foundation and it gives me that flawless look which i love.

My current favourite Concealer is Maybelline New York Dream Mousse Concealer and my Favourite Foundation is Almay Skin Stays Clean
